(G) Aaron Rhooms – TMU

Making his third appearance on our Team of the Week, Aaron Rhooms continues to prove why he’s one of the top players in the OUA. The leading scorer in the conference at 20.6 points per game, Rhooms also ranks third in three-pointers made, showcasing his elite scoring ability.
This past week, he averaged an impressive 29.5 points and 4 assists, playing a crucial role in ending TMU’s four-game losing streak. After a tough two-point loss to Queen’s, Rhooms bounced back in a big way, dropping 31 points against Ontario Tech, solidifying his status as one of the most dominant offensive players in the league.
(G) Inaki Alvarez – Toronto

Earning his first selection to our Team of the Week, Iñaki Alvarez played a pivotal role in the Varsity Blues’ 2-0 week. Despite Toronto’s up-and-down season, Alvarez has been a consistent bright spot, stepping up when his team needed him most.
One of the most underrated point guards in the conference, Alvarez’s leadership and ability to impact both ends of the floor have been crucial for U of T. With strong performances this past week, he continues to make his case as a top guard in the OUA.
(G) Davante Hackett – Brock

Davante Hackett had one of the best showings this past week leading the Brock Badgers to a win over one of the best teams in the OUA in the Queen’s Gaels. Hackett earned his spot on this week’s team of the week because of his 27 point and 9 rebound game against the Gaels where he shot 9-14 (64%) from the field, 5-7 (71%) from the three, and 4-4 (100%) from the free throw line. Hackett is one of the best shooters in the OUA, shooting 45.1% from three and he proved it this game leading the Badgers offense down the stretch, scoring 15 points in the second half and hitting timely threes to stop the Gaels’ momentum during their runs. He also had a huge impact on the defensive end leading both teams in rebounding and allowing Brock to grab twice as many rebounds as Queens did during this contest. This game Hackett as well as the Badgers proved they are a team to be feared in the OUA as they look to continue their 10-game win streak and make another Wilson Cup appearance.
(F) Xavier Spencer – Carleton

Carleton is on a hot streak, currently enjoying four consecutive wins and establishing itself as one of the top teams in the league. A key player in this run has been Xavier Spencer, whose performance has stood out. In a game against Nipissing last week, he scored an impressive 24 points, shooting 52% from the field. He followed that up with a solid 15-point game against Laurentian, hitting 50% of his shots. As the season approaches its conclusion, Xavier seems to have found his rhythm at just the right moment, and his contributions will be vital for Carleton as they head into the playoffs.
(F) Lennart Weber – Toronto

This past week Lennart Weber has maintained his streak as the one of the most dominant big men in the OUA. The 6’8 forward leads the OUA in rebounds, averaging 9.9 rebounds per game and thus far in the season Weber continues to be a double-double machine, averaging 22.6 points and 11.3 rebounds over his three games this past week. This helped the University of Toronto Blues win their last two games against Laurier and McMaster as the blues look to turnaround their season and turn these past two wins into momentum to continue playing winning basketball for the rest of the season. Weber has been a consistent focus of the Blues basketball roster and will need to continue making key contributions on the offensive and defensive end if the Blues want to make a deep playoff run this year.
